Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards for international data transfers are used.
6. Client Documents and Google Drive
In the course of translation and interpreting assignments, I may process documents provided by clients. Depending on the assignment, these may include certificates, official documents, court or administrative documents, contracts, educational records or other documents containing personal data.
For the business storage and processing of files, I use, among other services, Google Drive as part of Google Workspace, as well as local storage media. An additional backup may be stored on an external data carrier. Processing is necessary to carry out the respective assignment and is generally based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Where documents provided by the client contain special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9(1) GDPR, such data are processed only where an additional exception under Art. 9(2) GDPR applies. This may be the case, in particular, where processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (Art. 9(2)(f) GDPR), or where the data subject has explicitly consented to the processing (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR).
Where documents contain personal data relating to criminal convictions or offences, such data are processed only in accordance with the applicable statutory requirements.
Client documents are not retained for longer than is necessary to carry out the assignment, comply with statutory retention obligations, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
7. Delivery of Completed Translations and WeTransfer
